The accurate, computer-aided single-visit inlay, onlay, partial and full crown tooth restoration system.
An image of the tooth from a 3D camera is sent to a milling machine accurate to 25 microns which is more accurate than any lab.
CEREC 3D is the world’s system for the fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in one office visit. With CEREC 3D you can be in and out in a single visit with a permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay, or veneer! For the patient this means fewer injections, less drilling, and less time out of your hectic schedule for dental care.
Thousands of people world-wide choose the CEREC 3D restorative technique for their dental needs.
What is CEREC ?
CEREC 3D is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural colour of other teeth.
How does the instrument work?
CEREC 3D uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. The dentist uses a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes about one hour.
What does this innovation means?
A tooth-coloured restoration means no more silver fillings discolouring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque resistant. Dentists no longer need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second visit has been eliminated.
What kind of procedure it can perform?
One visit beautiful all ceramic bonded crowns, Inlays and onlays
What are the advantage of this?
Single Appointment Dental Care. The dentist fabricates and fits the restoration in a single session, usually in less than one hour. Most dental restoration methods require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, you get an injection of anaesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression taken, and a temporary restoration put on your tooth. You make a second appointment for a couple of weeks later, get another injection, have the temporary pried off and have a permanent restoration put on. Why go to the dentist a second time when you don’t have to?
A CEREC tooth restoration isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy. Many years ago, dentists had few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals. With CEREC, your dentist can use strong, tooth coloured ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.
These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. So, your tooth does not crack, and you can go on enjoying your evening. Also, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so your dentist can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.
